Increased Action in Response to Climate Change

Petition Details

The worlds leading scientists have warned there is only 12 years for global warming to remain at a maximum of 1.5°C. Any increase would change the world as we know it for the worst.
We believe the government is not taking enough action against this global emergency!

Additional Information

-The planets average surface temperature has risen about 0.9°C since the late nineteenth century largely due to human emissions!
-Antarctica lost approximately 127 billion tons of ice per year between 1993 and 2016.
-Global sea levels rose approximately 8 inches in the last century, over the last two this rate has nearly doubled and it is increasing every year.
-We are currently in one of the most significant extinction events in the history of the world.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about climate change, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
