Political Manifestos To Be Legally Binding Contracts

Additional Information

We, the undersigned, having noted the casual attitude of some politicians towards the honouring of promises, call for legislation to be introduced, requiring that the content of Party Manifestos be made legally-binding on governments at both local and national level. We call, also, for heavy financial penalties to be imposed on any political party breaching such a contract, and for the leader of any such a political party to be debarred from political office for a period of not less than ten years where serious and/or multiple breaches are identified.
