Don't sack Jeremy Clarkson
Jeremy Clarkson's comments about the public sector strikes were made in his usual tongue-in-cheek style. He is one of the of the BBC's best presenters, bringing humour to topical discussion: outrageous comment is what the viewer expects and wants from him and so, what he gives them. 'Outrage' should be addressed in a further programme to allow such opinion also to be voiced. I would urge the government to protect freedom of speech and opinion in our media.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is a matter for the BBC.
It is a long-standing principle that the Government does not interfere in programme matters. It is important to maintain the principle of freedom of expression which political interference could undermine.
