Petition Action

A referendum for "Mancxit" for Manchester to leave the UK if the UK leaves EU.

Petition Details

Manchester is a proud international city that looks to the rest of the world for friends and business. With the shambles of BREXIT, we propose that Manchester has the ability to leave the UK and become perhaps a principality or something, and perhaps take Liverpool and other northern cities with it

Additional Information

I am sure Liverpool, Preston, and other Northern Cities would come and join our freedom from these Tory oppressors. We are otherwise not party political, but do not like the Tory party ripping Britain apart the way they are doing for their own protection.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure whether you want a referendum on independence for Manchester or the wider North West region. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you want the Government or Parliament to do.
