Stop Biased Reporting in British Media
Apply the same logic as social media adverts and create new legislation which requires media to declare when they have a financial affiliation with the topic they are reporting on. Stop hidden biased reporting and ensure tailored stories to support political agendas are transparent
The work of Edward Bernays shows how media has often been used to 'manipulate the masses' and sway political opinion. Freedom of speech should always be protected, however media outlets should have to declare when they are financially affiliated with the topic they are discussing. This will not completely stop biased reporting, but will allow people to understand the authenticity of their source.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you're concerned about bias in the media, but we are not sure what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
It is possible to complain about the accuracy of a story to the Independent Press Standards Organisation. You can find out more about their work here:

You could start a new petition calling for newspapers to be required to report the news impartially if that's something you'd like to see happen.
