Working for your Benefit
With millions out of work and claiming benefits not only is it a waste of resources (manpower) but costly on the public purse.
It would help their esteem and yet provide a valuable service to communities if they were employed on a government scheme.
Because of the notion it would be a source of cheap labour many are left to sit idle.
Then why not calculate the number of hours service related to the amount of benefit they receive. The working period could be calculated from the amount of benefit based on the minimum wage.
Therefore based on a min wage of £7 and a weekly benefit of £140 means that the claimant would do a minimum of 20 hours per week.
