Restrict sale of stolen gold jewellery. Protect Asian community from gold theft
More than £140 million worth gold jewellery and valuables have been stolen from the asian community in the UK. Many households are changing their way of cultural living and live in fear of theft and robbery. We petition our lawmakers to make it difficult for stolen gold to be sold freely.
We request that law should require;
All shops buying gold ornaments be registered with the local council.
Any seller trying to sell second hand jewellery to provide their proof of address and identity and complete a declaration to confirm the jewellery belongs to him/her. The declaration and ID documentation should be made available to the police investigating gold theft.
Shops failing to implement these rules should lose their registration and receive a fine, prison term for repeat offenders.
You can't sign this petition because it is now closed. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
