Scrap DBS check fees. Safety of vulnerable people should not come at a price.
Businesses are charged to check the forensic history of employees, to safeguard vulnerable people within the workplace and/or academia. For many businesses this is a very costly overhead. It is not ethical that the safety of vulnerable people is contingent on paying a DBS check fee.
It is extremely plausible that vulnerable people in our society will be put at risk if businesses do not, or cannot afford to complete DBS checks.
Businesses should be able to pay a subscription to gain access to a database to authenticate the intervrity of their employees, opposed to paying between £20 - £60 per check.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure whether you'd like fees for DBS checks to be scrapped completely, or whether you'd like there to be a subscription service in some or all cases.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
