Petition Action

Queen to dissolve parliament and implement a new democratic system

Petition Details

The dreadful behaviour of all MP's in the House of Commons during Brexit has demonstrated that they are incapable of acting on behalf of the British People and are only serving their own interests.

Parliament should be dissolved by the Queen and a new democratic system should be developed.

Additional Information

Any current serving MP's would be barred from taking part in any re-election process.
No political party can hold more than 65 seats (10% of seats) in the House of Commons, this means they will have to work together for the will of the people rather than against each other for political gain.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because under the Fixed-Terms Parliament Act the Queen does not have the power to dissolve Parliament.

You could start a new petition calling for Parliament to pass a law returning the power to dissolve Parliament to the monarch if that's something you would like to see happen.
