Review traffic light operation to reduce pollution and improve traffic flow.

There is an interminable amount of time spent, unnecessarily, sat waiting at traffic lights burning fuel, increasing pollution and disrupting traffic flow. Various countries in the world adopt a variety of approaches, very successfully, to address these issues.

Additional Information

Examples: Where possible/feasible etc. make left turns on "red" permissible. Junctions where this is not possible should be posted as "no left turn on red" (common in the USA). Introduce "flashing amber" as a default traffic light caution between certain times, particularly on roundabouts with multiple sets around their circumference. This core practice is common in many countries, not least Saudi Arabia, where driving standards are poor, but this appears successful. Conduct an extensive review.
