Petition Action

Do not implement EU Article 11 & Article 13 into UK law.

Petition Details

The EU has recently approved articles 11 and 13, which by design, will be incredibly damaging for the internet as we know it. We, the undersigned kindly request that this directive not be implemented into UK law. Technologies such as Wikipedia, YouTube and Reddit could simply disappear.

Additional Information

Think GDPR, but instead of companies having to delete your details, the companies will delete any and all material that contains any copyrighted content, even if this extends into fair use. In less technical terms, content reviewers and critical thinkers will be shut down, multiple entertainment personalities will be removed and memes will be illegal as most are technically copyrighted content.
