Fund free self-defence classes for women aged 16-25

In October 2018, the HoC Women & Equality Committee published a report highlighting the “relentless” harassment experienced by girls and women on Britain’s streets, and calling on the Government to take urgent action to address this issue.

Additional Information

Long term, of course, the social attitudes which underpin the harassment of women must change.

But as an immediate pragmatic solution, free self-defence classes would allow all women a basic sense of security as they walk alone in the streets.

The psychological torment of feeling constantly under threat is something millions of women endure on a daily basis. This could be easily combatted through the introduction of this low-cost scheme.
