Petition Action

Hold elections for a new mayor of london

Petition Details

Since Sadiq Khan repeatedly is calling for a final vote on leaving the EU, it is only fair that we call for a final say on his failed term as mayor.
The Mayor is failing in protecting citizens of London and finds it easier to blame the country’s leaders and cuts.
We want a new mayor

Additional Information

Repeated interference and the causing of divisions within society, through repeated social media statements is why we want him replaced.
Repeated reporting of his opinions on social media ,which have no credible evidence are leading to devisions within the heart of society.
Failure to protect Londoners and a rise is gang related violent crime has led to Londoners feeling unsafe, people dying and being hurt or abused. But the mayor seems to shrug it off and blame it on the leadership.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure whether you'd like to change the length of term for the London Mayor or change the law so that the Government can decide the date of the mayoral elections. At the moment, the next London mayoral election will be held in May 2020.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
