Honour the commitment on which you were elected and take us out of the EU.
In June '17 over 90% of MPs were elected on a mandate to respect the EU referendum result, a commitment to ensure that the UK left the EU.
This commitment was not caveated; “to leave, but only if…” or “to leave, but only or…”. It was to leave; not to delay; not to hold another vote, but to leave.
In 2016, the majority of voters (17.4million people, 52%) chose for the United Kingdom to leave the EU.
In the June 2017 General Election over 90% of successful candidates were elected on a manifesto commitment to respect the referendum and ensure the UK exited the EU.
Now more than 2-years after Parliament voted to trigger Article 50 (by a majority of 384), MPs must stop put aside their own concerns and honour the commitment they made. Brexit however unpalatable, must not be delayed further.
