Lower the UK voting age to 16
Young people are the future of the country and should be encouraged to be active participants in our democracy.
The rising generation is actively learning at school the importance of democracy to BRITISH VALUES and should be encouraged to acquire the habit of voting as soon as possible. 16 year olds should be encouraged to take responsibility for our society by voting. The government already set a precedent when they determined that Scottish 16 year olds were responsible enough to vote in the Scottish referendum; it is inconsistent for all 16 year olds not to be allowed in all elections as well.
