4500kg o licence exemption
having recently found out the the manufacturers weight of a 3500kg chassis cab being around 2200kg then add body ie luton box the average being around 600kg takes unladen weight to 2800kg only giving a payload of 700kg excluding driver and passengers and fuel therefore most 3500kg vans etc must be running over weight mostly unintentionaly on a daily basis so if the o licence requirement was dropped on 4500kg but not maintainance records or plating test or tacho this would add to more people operating within the law either that or increase weight capacity of 3500kg-4000kg for vehicles registered 2000 and after assafety features brakes etc have improved imensly and the law has not kept pace with any tech improvements or manufacturers weight increases
