Petition Details

Knife and gun crime is getting out of control in London. We need more measures to tackle this and keep people safe. More policing on the streets and measures to understand why this is happening.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because it's about something the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.

The Mayor of London is responsible for the Metropolitan Police.
You can find out how to petition the Greater London Assembly, which looks at the work of the Mayor, here:

www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions

You could start a new petition calling on the UK Government to provide more funding to the Metropolitan Police if that is something you would like to see happen.
