To amend the BBC's Royal Charter to split news & politics from entertainment

Petition Details

To make "entertainment only" the mandatory paid public service. News & politics to be broadcast on a separate optional subscription based channel. Outcome intended to neutralise the financing of the BBC's left of centre political dogma and so deliver choice to those whose political views differ.

Under the terms of the BBC's Royal Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
