People who falsely accuse someone of sexual assault deserve prison time
The effects of false accusations are having equally as devastating an effect on those accused. This is never discussed and a conversation is needed to ensure that falsely ruining someone’s life carries a punishment that will deter others from doing so also.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure exactly what you would like the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Making a false allegation of a crime may already in some circumstances lead to a jail sentence - for example, if someone is found guilty of perverting the course of justice. In other cases, people who are accused of making false accusations may be prosecuted for wasting police time.
It is not clear to us how you would like the law to be changed.
