Petition Details

Recent political dealings has highlighted the fact that a political party can backtrack or ignore the promises that it makes to the electorate in order to gain winning votes in a general election.

Additional Information

In 2010 the Lib Dems promised no rise in tuition fees, the result was a rise in tuition fees.
Both the Labour party and the Conservatives promised in the 2017 election that they would uphold the result of the 2016 referendum result to leave the European Union. ie, no customs union, no single market, no ECJ, no freedom of movement. Since the election both partys have tried to reverse or soften the result. the electorate need to know exactly what they are voting for, and government to deliver it.
