Any costs for article 50 extension is paid for by MP's from their own pockets

Petition Details

MP's have deliberately defied the will of the people over the result of the referendum to leave the EU. If they want to carry on with the charade currently in the houses of parliament then they should have to foot the bill for any extra cash needed to pay the EU for the delays to article 50.

Additional Information

We took the vote and the result was leave. I hope everyone else is as upset as I am over this whole affair with a government and MP's who do not believe we knew what we were voting for. WE did know and the democratic majority voted to leave with no mention of a deal. It doesn't matter what side you voted for, we should have left on the date laid down in law, 29th March 2019.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions which call for actions that are the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. It's not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament to charge the costs of policies to individual MPs.

There are already petitions about leaving the EU, which you might like to sign, for example:

Walk away now! We voted for a No Deal Brexit: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/235185

Brexit article 50 must not be withdrawn: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/246387
