Petition Action

Let us take our childcare entitlement from 1yr. Help us keep our jobs open.

Petition Details

The national living wage is £71 per day- nursery fees in the midlands are £48 per day. We work for £20 a day. Let the start of free childcare be available from 12mths even if it is at a reduced rate of 1 or 2 days a week for 4 years. Help us keep our jobs and return to work.

Additional Information

Working parents wait till their children are 3 years old to be entitled to 30 hours pw childcare. Parents below the national living wage get 15 hours at 2 years.
At 1yr old parents coming out of maternity leave are forced to decide to not return to work or work for £20 a day for 2 years if they have no family to rely on for childcare, parents work for 1 day a week to keep their jobs open, for £20. We are entitled to it, so let us choose when we take it. Help us return to work & keep our jobs.
