Petition Action

Require MP's and Lords to dial back the rhetoric when describing BREXIT

Petition Details

The portrayal that 17.4 million people voted for a no-deal BREXIT is false.
Words like 'betrayal', 'remainer parliament', 'president letwin', 'stolen' to name but a few are tantamount to inciting violence and constitute language not becoming of MP's and especially Lords!

Additional Information

This kind of behaviour and language has led to the rise of National Socialism in the past and it was voted in with a cheer and a wave. Stop referring to a false image of World War Two.

Do we have to have more violence on our streets before MP's moderate their language.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the language MPs and Lords use.

You could start a new petition about something the UK Parliament and Government are responsible for. For example, you could start a new petition asking the UK Parliament and Government to debate and condemn the use of extreme language by MPs.
