Place a ban upon the Grand National
We believe that equestrian sports should be made a criminal offence because many horses die or are seriously injured both mentally and physically as a result of this.
The government ignored the last petition, saying there had been no deaths since 2012. This time, a horse has died. Listen to us.
Before you say that accidents happen, remember that no significant changes to these courses have happened. The government and the British Horseracing Authority have turned a blind eye to this truly serious issue.
Imagine not knowing anything other than racing with a heavy load on your back, being whipped to make you run faster than you thought was possible. And just when you are about to collapse, you are ordered to run even faster. You grow old. You get sent to the abbotoir. This isn't fair.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
