Make it compulsory for local authorities to collect plastic wrappings
I am SO heartsick of seeing the awful pollution we are causing to our world and fellow creatures, yet we have limited options for disposing of plastic wrappings which is on EVERYTHING! We CAN dispose of these items in a better way. Just a few kerbside collections bins per street would be a start!
Whilst I would love to see a ban on all unnecessary plastic packaging, it is going to take some time to see this happen. The popularity of plastic, which began rising in the 1950s, is growing out of control—18.2 trillion pounds of plastic have been produced around the world and there’s no sign of slowing down, considering scientists say that another 26.5 trillion pounds will be produced worldwide by 2050, and it takes forever to decompose.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
Local authorities already have a duty to keep land clear of litter. You can find out more here:

You could start a new petition calling for the Government to give more funding to local councils to clear litter if that is something you would like to see happen.
