Abolish parliamentary recesses
To abolish parliamentary recesses and institute a system of five weeks holiday per annum for MP’s in line with the rest of the working population instead of the fifteen and a half weeks currently enjoyed. (This not counting an additional three weeks of party conferences).
This will give considerably more time to debate issues and still result in their speedier resolution.
Take, for example, a current petition which has reached 126,000 signatures. The date set for debate is over a year after the 100,000 signatures were achieved and 3 months after the due date for closure of the petition.
You can't sign this petition because it is now closed. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
