Report any car or non-commercial vehicle for exhaust pollution.
There are many times I've had to dive in someone's driveway to avoid black smoke coming from a car or van. I have seen people surrounded by black smoke standing at pedestrian crossings in our local village.
I have tried reporting this to the police, DVLA and DVSA and local council but they all say it will be picked up at the next MOT, only lorries and buses can be made to immediately sort the problem out.. In the meantime these vehicles are driving around for months causing pollution.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand you are concerned about exhaust pollution but we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition making it a criminal offence to drive a car that exceeds national pollution standards if that is something you would like to see happen.
