Stop using schools as polling stations.
Primary schools are often used as polling stations during general and local elections, forcing the schools to close for safe guarding reasons. This doesn’t only cost parents additional expense but also children to lose a days education. In most areas there is a village hall or community centre.
Most villages and towns have a local village hall or community centre, which is more suitable and doesn’t affect children’s education.
I would like to encourage councils to stop closing schools and utilise other community places, which may also put more funds into that community. If these places are not suitable then a further suitable place to be considered which doesn’t affect the future generations education.
