Petition Action

Abolish repeated Umrah visa fees of £400 imposed by Saudi upon British Muslims.

Petition Details

The fee of £400 has been introduced two years ago by Saudi government if a second Umrah visa is requested within two years. This is a big burden for British Muslim families. We may understand if it was within a year but within two years it too much!

Additional Information

My wife and I had to pay over £800 of Umrah visa fee in December 2018 because we performed Umrah in April 2017.
Currently the same visa fee was abolished for Egyptian, Turkish and Pakistani Nationals after their governments interfered.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This is a decision for the government of Saudi Arabia, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition asking the UK Government to urge the government of Saudi Arabia to abolish the visa fee, if that's what you'd like to happen.
