Petition Action

Allow a protest vote on all ballot papers.

Petition Details

Currently people have no way to protest and be counted at election time. Many people chose not to vote while some may spoil their ballot papers. Although those numbers are available they are indistinguishable from voter apathy and genuine error.

Additional Information

I propose that on all ballot papers, both government and local, a choice is available which states something similar to "I choose not to vote for any of these candidates or parties".

In the event that this protest vote wins, then a re-run may be the outcome but at the very least, Government would have a true count of protest.
