Educate primary and secondary schools about disabilities and special needs
More children and young adults should be educated on special needs and disabilities in order to reduce discrimination! Many people I work with feel isolated and fear of going out in public due to public discrimination and public lack of education.
On school trips i would find children will point and question why the less able are the way they are, although we will never be able to completely eradicate questions and opinions, an education scheme to provide knowledge to children and young adults may help build confidence in less able and enable them to feel accepted! Let’s teach children that it is ok to be different and why people are different.Instead of leaving children and adults feeling like prisoners in they’re own home.
