Petition Action

It should not be made so easy for single mums to receive housing and benefits.

Additional Information

It should not be made so easy for single mums to receive housing and benefits. The burden should not be placed on the Taxpayer. Where there is a father in the background – that father should take full responsibility. With DNA testing, this should not prove difficult. Otherwise this should be entirely the responsibility of the single mum or deserted wife’s immediate family. It is far too easy for Dads to walk away from girlfriends and wives, and far too many do so with the knowledge that the state will provide. Children ideally require a decent upbringing with both a mother and father figure to provide role models and instill values. Recent riots in England are the result of a poor upbringing and lack of values and morals. There needs to be more education about consequences and also advice on contraception. For some single mums, having a baby without a partner has also become a lifestyle choice.
