Introduce a law that allows for shared parentage of children like United States
Children should have equal parents and in the light of woman / men equal rights in the world progressing this should be reflected in parenting. As the birth mother this should not mean that the child should spend time with them which outweighs that of the father.
Equal time with both parents is beneficial for the child and would promote trust and security in relationships between the child and both parents. Too many situations see the father alienated from the child’s life and has to fight for minimal contact through a lengthy and costly court battle. Shared parentage is in the child’s best interest.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to create shared parentage.
Decisions on custody are a matter for parents or, where they cannot agree, the courts, which are independent of the UK Parliament and Government.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
