Petition Action

Time to stop the increasing ransom demands from London Underground Staff and their Unions

Additional Information

A London Underground Driver already has this to look forward to (source: The Daily Mail):

- Basic salary: £45,545 per year increasing to £52,000 by 2015
- Receiving an extra £1,200 'Olympics' bonus'
- 43 days holiday a year
- 35-hour working week
- Free tube travel for themselves and their households

Unemployment in the UK is at it's highest for 17 years and the London Underground Unions are trying to make new absurd demands, such as triple pay for working a bank holiday that they are already contracted to do, and also for which they are already generously rewarded.

The season of goodwill, not to mention common sense, is truly dead in the hearts and minds of these Unions and it is time that the Government put a stop to this.

I call upon the Government to use all possible measures to stop these Unions from making more unreasonable demands and to protect the fare paying majority from the actions of these selfish few.
