One in 200 people now homeless in Britain as crisis deepens. The number of homeless people in Britain soared to around 320,000 individuals at the start of this year, representing roughly one in every 200 people, 80,000 households, including more than 120,000 children, were homeless .

More than 130,000 homeless children will be living in temporary accommodation over the festive period in Britain, the equivalent of five youngsters in every school, according to estimates by the homelessness charity Shelter.5 Dec 2018
For women in particular, domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness. the country report that top causes of homelessness among families were: (1) lack of affordable housing, (2) unemployment, (3) poverty, and (4) low wages, in that order.
