Improve legislations Breach of Duty of Care for the NHS and Social Care

Petition Details

I've had 1st hand experience of breach of duty of care with regards to the NHS and Social care as a carer... I'm flabbergasted at the lack of professionalism, respect and dignity these organisations give the elderly, the vulnerable and people with mental health diagnosis. Change is needed

Additional Information

-Current legislations have limitations
-Regulatory organisations have limitations
-Individuals are living longer, therefore the change in legislations is needed now, to ensure that our aging population has the same level of care and attention as someone with a physical health condition, namely to be treated with respect and dignity, despite their differences, which is a requirement and is clearly stipulated in the Human Right Act 1998...

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure exactly how you'd like the law to be changed to better protect people in care homes.

The Care Quality Commission has published information about what people can expect from a good care home. You can find out more here.

www.cqc.org.uk/help-advice/what-expect-good-care-services/what-can-you-expect-good-care-home

The Competition and Markets Authority has published advice to care home providers about complying with consumer law. You can find out more here:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition calling for increased staffing or higher training standards to be set out in law, if that's something you'd like to happen.
