UK Government to apologise for Jallianwala Bagh Massacre to India & Pakistan
On 13th of April 1919 Sikhs had gathered in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar in India to celebrate Vaisakhi. Colonel Dyer, on behalf of the UK Government, ordered his men to fire at the crowd killing hundreds & injured thousands of Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims peaceful protesters & youngest was 6 months old
At the time Winston Churchill proclaimed the massacre "monstrous" and the British Government condemned Dyer for his actions.
David Cameron, the former prime minister, described the massacre as "a deeply shameful event in British history".
Teresa May, the current UK prime minister, expressed 'deep regret' over the April 1919 massacre, calling it a 'shameful scar' on British Indian history.
>100 years after the event UK must issue unequivocal apology for the horrendous actions by the British.
