All new roofs including on old houses should be fitted with solar panels by law
There is a target to build 200,000 homes each year, a 4-5kw system would provide enough energy to power a 3 bedroom house. Making it self reliant for power. There are to be 6551 in Cranbrook in Devon. This could produce 21618300 kw per year, rather than just consuming this amount.
The Energy Saving Trust (EST) estimates that a typical three-bedroom home in the UK will use just over 3,000kw per year. So, a 4kw or 5kw system would cover this.
