Reject the July 15 implementation of required ID verification for porn websites!
Pornographic websites or sites with more than 33% adult content will require users to provide personal info in order to access as of July 15th.
While well intended, there is risk of said private info to be breached and non pornographic websites could be falsely blocked by those with ill intent.
Users requiring identification to access adult content is part of the 2017 Digital Economy Act to prevent under 18's from viewing porn.
It has been proven that this will be ineffective and there is potential for said personal information to be leaked. MindGeek; owner of many big porn sites and would be trusted with said personal info recently had a security breach which doesn't bode well.
Plus, the BBFC wants the public to notify them of adult sites which allows trolls to falsely ban any site.
