Make money management lessons mandatory in schools
Young children need to be able to prepare themselves for the real world once they leave school, there are no lessons provided within schools that allow this to happen. So I propose that we provide a lesson to children which focuses on ‘general studies’ this would include money management, finances.
All through school life you are told that your GCSE/A-level grades will prepare you for the world but this is not true.
Since leaving sixth form I have had to learn how the world works, how would I buy my own house? What even is a mortgage? These are things that need to be taught and young people need to be equipped with in the real world.
