Care staff ratio

Petition Details

So I've been a care assistant for over 10 years both in nursing homes and residental homes.
And it is common problem of shortage of staff. I think there should be a ratio of care assistant per residents.
I think 1 care assistant per 5 residents, and if the residents needs 2 care staff for

Additional Information

Whatever reason i think there should be 1 extra member of staff to help them.
With children there is a law of ratio X amount of children age range to X Amount of adults so why not with our most vulnerable in society?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure what you'd like the minimum care staff to resident ratio to be or the circumstances in which a residential care home would be required to have a higher staff to resident ratio.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
