Petition Details

The Student and Teaching Movement want 5 demands from the government, have a £8000 per pupil per year spending cap, give teachers a 5% pay rise, cover tuition fees for university, strengthen the UKYP with lowering the vote to 16 and then incorporate it all under a National Education Service.

Additional Information

We want to higher the spending per pupil because pupils have been cut £526 since the 2009-10 school year. Increase teachers’ pay by 5% to fill in the gap of the 5300 teachers that left between 2016 and 2017 and to have the government pay for tuition fees for universities to have a better educated workforce.
