Every home in the UK to have a food waste bin.
Every year in the UK we throw away 7 million tonnes of food - the equivalent of 260kg per household, per year. An area the size of Wales would be needed to produce all the food and drink currently wasted. Currently this all ends up in landfill, and there's enough in landfill already.
We can help by recycling food waste by allowing it to be appropriately distributed and biodegraded to be used as compost.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not exactly sure what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition asking the Government to require every home in England to have a food waste recycling bin. Recycling strategy is a devolved issue.
