why we, the people, should pay for the EU elections on 29 May.
In 2016 this Nation voted to leave the EU. due to politicians not doing what the electorate want there is to be an election for which Local authorities are preparing at a cost to us the people. this cost is directly attributable to the MPs so they should pay this cost not the public purse
Due to the ineffectiveness of the Members of Parliament the people are being asked to pay for their inability to do what they were told by the electorate. they should pay themselves for all costs for this election that have been incurred by since the referendum result was known till we leave the EU.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
You can find out how to contact IPSA here:
http://www.theipsa.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/
You could start a new petition asking the UK Government and Parliament to take back responsibility for MP salaries, if that's something you'd like to happen.
