All NEW houses above £250,000 in value are required to have solar panels

Petition Details

Solar Panels may look ugly, but are an effective weapon against climate change. Houses are being built around the UK and the vast majority dont have solar panels when they are built. Solar panels can reduce a homes carbon footprint whilst also reducing its electricity cost at the same time.

Additional Information

- The Government aims to build 300,000 new homes per year yet only 8,400 homes a year install solar [BEIS/HMTreasury]
- 400,000 people in Britain are in fuel poverty [Citizens Advice]
- Scotland already has a scheme to encourage solar on new build homes.
- The average solar install costs less than £4,500
This can easily help the climate change issue and fan be done through easy, but effective methods such as incentives and new policies
