Elections: add option to vote for “none of the above”.
Currently when we vote, we must choose either a political party or a specific candidate. There is no option to specify “none of the above”.
There should be a “none of the above” option in all elections.
The “none of the above” votes should be counted and reported like all other votes.
Having “none of the above” would allow the electorate to very clearly show that none of the candidates/parties are suitable. This may allow more candidates and/or parties to consider standing in an area if there is a high “none of the above” vote. It may also encourage turnout if voters feel their opinion is being accurately counted and reported.
