Investigate the meaning of the results 2019 Local Elections

Petition Details

In the Local Elections, there was a swing away from pro-brexit parties and gains made by explicitly anti-brexit parties.

We would like to see more thorough and complete analysis than simply assigning this to a pro-brexit sentiment.

Additional Information

In the 2019 Local Elections, the Conservative Party lost 1269 seats, the Labour Party lost 63 seats, UKIP lost 36 seats, making a total pro-brexit loss of 1368 seats.

Lib Dem gained 676 seats and the Green Party gained 185 seats, making a total anti-brexit gain of 861 seats.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

There are lots of other sources of independent election result analysis, which you might like to look at, for example:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48142181

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
