Petition Action

Scotrail to pay back lost revenue to either the private and public sector or directly to those affected.

Additional Information

Scotrail and its related services cost individuals, public and private sector organisations substantial sums in lost revenue due to unreliable trains and services, be it due to technical failure or staffing related problems.

Despite these costs, Scotrail have increased there fare prices every year beyond what is sensible, given economic factors with very little improvement to services, if anything they are depreciating in reliability and value for money.

The action that the government should take is an independant review of the financial burden that Scotrail places on individuals, public and private sector due to late and unreliable trains and services fining them appropriately.

The government should also place a limitation on how much a ticket may increase over an annual period to prevent Scotrail from recouping losses of fines(if any) from the paying customer.
