Eight former servicemen had their Victoria Crosses confiscated
They were convicted of a criminal offence. This should not detract from their bravery.
These brave men were awarded the Victoria Cross for extreme bravery in the face of the enemy. Being convicted later does not detract from that. I know that the Royal Warrant for the Victoria Cross says that `Should the holder of a Victoria Cross do anything to discredit the honour in any way he should (Not must!) be made to forfeit the honour`
