Petition Details

Clearly the big players will always avoid the tax that the UK registered companies have to pay, this costs UK jobs and kills the high street. All that spending just goes overseas and is then forever lost to the UK. Online gambling removes billions from the UK, pays neglible tax and destroys lives.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure what you want to include as "tax avoiding companies" and whether this would apply to all online gambling companies.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, for example by requiring a VAT rate of 30% for products sold by any company registered abroad, if that is what you would like to do.
